Your pain diary is yours

What we store, why, where it's kept, and how to take it with you or delete it.

Last updated October 3, 2026

PainSense is run by Timurtek LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers the PainSense app on the web, iOS and Android, and this website. If anything here is unclear, email hello@timurtek.com.

The short version. We store what you log so you can see it on any device. We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't share it with your doctor, employer or insurer. You can export everything for free, and deleting your account deletes your data.

What we store

Your account

  • Your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the name and profile details Google shares with us.
  • Your settings, such as Night mode, and your plan.

What you log

  • Pain issues: the name, type, body areas and notes you give each one.
  • Episodes: intensity, time, body areas, what the pain feels like, triggers, what helped, impact and notes.
  • Voice and video notes, if you're on Pro and choose to record them.
  • Feedback you send us from the app.

This is health information. We only use it to show it back to you: your history, trends and the reports you choose to create.

Billing

Payments are handled by Stripe (web) and by Apple or Google through RevenueCat (iOS and Android). We never see or store your card number. We keep your subscription status, plan and renewal date so we know whether Pro is on.

Crashes and errors

If the app crashes or something fails (for example, an episode doesn't save), it sends a report through Firebase Crashlytics (iOS and Android) or Google Analytics (web) so we can fix it. Reports contain the type of error, where in the app it happened, your device and app version, and your account ID. They don't include what you logged.

Usage and attribution

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used (for example, that an episode was logged or a screen was viewed), linked to your account ID. Analytics events don't include what you wrote or which body areas you chose. If you arrived from a link with campaign tags (UTM parameters), we attach those tags to your analytics profile so we know which channels bring people to PainSense.

Where it's kept and who processes it

  • Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Hosting, Analytics, Crashlytics): your account, logs, recordings and the app itself. Firestore data is stored in the United States.
  • Stripe: web payments and subscription management.
  • RevenueCat, Apple and Google Play: in-app subscriptions on iOS and Android.
  • Vercel: hosts this website. It doesn't receive anything you log in the app.

Each processes data only to provide its service to us. Data is encrypted in transit, and our database and storage rules restrict your logs to your own signed-in account.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or rent your data.
  • We don't use what you log for advertising or to train AI models.
  • We don't share your logs with anyone unless you export or share them yourself, or the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. On the free plan the app shows your last 30days; older entries are kept, not deleted, and come back if you upgrade. When you delete your account we delete your profile, issues, episodes and recordings straight away. Copies in backups and provider logs expire on those providers' normal schedules. Stripe keeps the billing records that tax law requires.

Your choices and rights

  • Export: in Settings, choose Export your data to download everything you've logged as JSON or CSV. It's free on every plan.
  • Delete: in Settings, choose Delete account. This removes your sign-in, profile, issues, episodes and recordings, and cancels a web subscription. App Store and Google Play subscriptions must be cancelled in the store. More about deleting your account.
  • Correct: you can edit or delete any issue or episode in the app.
  • Ask: email us to ask what we hold about you, or to exercise any other right you have where you live.

Children

PainSense isn't intended for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Not a medical service

PainSense is a tracking tool. It doesn't give medical advice, diagnose or monitor you, and nobody reviews what you log. If you need urgent help, contact your local emergency number.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
